Theory of the temple |
Lead | ||
|
The halls of the Vhaeraun temple where slowly being occupied as the day began to awake those that slept a normal eight hours. Alya had been awake for hours and had tracked down Nigell who had found her a rare book that she had been trying to find for years on the surface. It wasn't rare down in the underdark thankfully but she still had not been able to find a safe place to read as Alakas had nothing better to do then to pursue her. As she was in no mood to play his game Alya was searching for the safety of Xullrae. She had completed a set of emerald earings that she had design with Xull'rae in mind and wanted to see them sparkle in the perfect of her beautiful long red hair. She knew where Xull'rae in theory should be so made her way through the crowd to see if her guess would be more then just a theory.

Prayers were saod at night. Alya knew this and had seen it first hand studying Urlryn during her months in the orcish hell. It was morning and Xull'rae was not sleeping, she needed less sleep than most. Alya knew that too, it seemed that Xull'rae never slept.
The beautiful red head was not in view. Alya waited a bit as she always did, and like usual, Xull'rae never came. Unlike most priests Alya came to realize that ever since Xull'rae had rescued them that the red head was different than the others. It wasn't just her eyes and hair, and not even the fact that she was this temple's only Masked Traitor; her routine and manner were totally set apart from any other. At this time of morning, Xull'rae would still be in the prayer chambers. She spent hours there. When she wasn't praying, she was meditating. Alya had heard many things about Xull'rae over the two months since her return to the Tower. She had special inhuman abilites, she was not to be trusted, she was evil and bring down the tower, she was Vhaeraun's favored, and that had bore him a godling child. Some Alya knew were true but others warranted more investigation. She saw servants leave the prayer room unhurried, followed by Rizzen. It was odd for him to be there, he was usually out patrolling by now. He grinned when he saw Alya and headed straight for her. <font face="times new roman"> <font size="1"><font color="white">To be insane is to have a lack of understanding of what one is doing to themselves and others in their surroundings.         Alya gives a slight bow of greeting to Rizzen. Her thoughts still on the the enchantress that beckoned her but she knew better then to let down her guard with someone as skilled as Rizzen near by. She knew that Alakas wouldn't be to far behind as he had decide that he wanted his child and would have it from Alya. Her solution of avoiding him wouldn't work forever.
        For now she turned her full attention to Rizzen. A slight smile decorated her face. "Greetings Rizzen. What brings you here?" Alya asked. |

Rizzen shrugged an gave his famous lopsided grin. "Alakas after you again?" He shook his head and continued before she could affirm the guess. "You know he chases you, like you do Xull'rae. You struck me as the 'I want a man type'." He shrugged again. "Your girlfriend is in the main chapel. She doesn't want to be disturbed though, so best tread lightly."
Rizzen popped her rear end hard as he passed her by that was followed by a merry laugh. He was often too free with speaking, but that never stopped him from playing around. Despite his good natired antics he did serve her a warning. To be insane is to have a lack of understanding of what one is doing to themselves and others in their surroundings. Alya stepped forward with the slap on her back side which only provide a slight annoyance as the sting provoked a sense a pleasure that she wasn't about to admit to. "I'm still waiting for a man to be interested." She replied to Rizzen before continueing on her own path. Alya was cautious around Rizzen as she enjoyed his company and in the past bad things always seemed to happen to those she had a passing relationship with. It seemed to be a curse that had at least forgotten to plague her for the last month. The thought of her compared to Alakas in chasing Xullrae did secrectly bother her a great deal. As she reached the chapel she slowed her speed respectfully pausing at a shrine.
        She slipped a hand into her pockect to retrieve the emerald earings that Xull'rae had inspired her to created looking upon them thoughtfully as they remained semi concealed in her cupped hand. Alya had spent a month on and off perfecting there design and had finally completed them. The detailing and quality of the piece made the gems themselves more valuable as the design would only compliment the ears they decorated. Anyone with a eye could see the hours of work put into them as a caster could enchant the earings should it be desired. It would be a waisted effort to keep the earing for herself as she rarely wore them however she did not really wish to provoke Xull'rae unless it was into the bed chamber. She replaced the earings after wrapping them in a small piece of velvet to protect them before continuing on her search. |

Who knew the mind of Rizzen? He was long gone now, but that was another rumor circulating the temple: Xull'rae's relationship was more than professional with Rizzen.
With her earrings safe. Alya approached the prayer room. She was distracted by a comely male, walking back and forth. He was talking to himself nervously. All Alya could make out of his mumbling was Xull'rae's name. The man was very clean, to the point that he looked polished. His dark skin seemed to radiate and every now and then, black swirls whisped off of him. Long white hair was pulled back and held in place by three metal clasps of remarkable craftmenship. His clothes were exquisite, made with silk and velvet. They were brightly colored; light blue robes trimmed in silver silk. He looked like a wizard, not a priest. He turned toward her startled and blushed furiously. Alya saw his eyes. The silk trim made them shine with brillance, for they were the color of molten silver. (BLAST! This bored does that to me on purpose! I know it does! Oh well I will rewrite it)
Alya's orange eyes met with the molten silver eyes of the comely caster who stood before her. She admire the polished look as it was something she seldom could achieve and keep for a extended period of time. A smile formed on her lips as the blush seemed almost unnatural to her and not at all a response she had provoked from many since in the underdark. Alya brushed a stray strand of hair from her face and behind her ear where it had been. She gave a nod of greeting before saying "I didn't realize how popular Xull'rae was. You are a brave soul aren't you?" she comments stopping to speak with him. |

The handsome drow looked a little older than Alya, but only in the eyes, the rest of him had a boyish uncertainty as he laughed nervously. When he spoke, however, his voice was clear and charming as if he had spent years perfecting his statesmanship. "My apologies madame," he bowed his head in respect, "you startled me." He looked at the grand prayer door longingly for a moment. "I need to stop my foolish fancies before they get me killed. My name is Nadal, Nadal Gellaer and you must be Alya." Nadal smiled in genuine warmth. "I do wish to disturb her, she is still meditating." When Alya failed to understand the depth of he sentence, he explained further, "The Holy Mother is teaching me how to harden myself." He laughed when he realozed how he had worded that. "Though I fear I am a poor student, for she hardens me in inapropriate places," he admitted.
He was staring into her eyes with curiousity. "So what brings you to see her?" To be insane is to have a lack of understanding of what one is doing to themselves and others in their surroundings. Alya also let a light chuckle escape as her eyes betray a interest in this silver eyed male. "Well met Nadal. I am indeed Alya. Xull'rae is very good at having that effect on folks." she pauses glancing at the doors and then back to Nadal. "I am here to see if she is willing to join me for dinner or if she has other plans." Alya replied leaving part of it untold as Xull'rae would share if she desired more. "My visit should be brief. Do you mind if I borrow her attention before you?" Alya asked. Nadal had beat her to the distation and she was in no mood to gain another enemy by cutting him off if she didn't have to. In truth she would have been more then happy to stay and chat with Nadal however her agenda was to get near the phoenix known as Xullrae without being burned to death.

DOOM ON ALYA | #11 | ||
|
"That or it will provoke her to beat us both down.Shall we?"Alya replied motioning for Nadal to come. She took hold of the door and gently opened attempting to make as little noise as possible which was partically impossible with the weight of the doors. Alya couldn't help but want to pick Nadal's brain to see if he truly was a mage as they normally know about books which she had yet to partake of and it was a love that she had always carried which only grew with age. Her father had encouraged her to take up the path of a wizard when she was much younger but her reading had been a escape not a means of power for her.
Her sharp eyes search for the red head that inspired her to create pieces that where a notch above even her best work before she had entered her life. Alya had passed her father in skill and loved to see her pieces upon Xull'rae's body. The Frettlar house has always been known for there jewelry creation being the finest that could be had among the drow crafters. There where a few none drow with a finer skill but being drow normally add in her favor as far as her sales where concerned. Looking upon her as she sat in front of the alter brought a smile to her face as she moved silently to where she could obtain her attention without startling her. "Greetings. Please forgive our intrusion. It appears that you have promised a portion of your time to Nadal. I was hoping you would look over a project perhaps over a meal later this evening if you are able?" Alya spoke to Xull'rae once she looked at her giving her a slight bow. She wasn't nearly as skilled at speaking as some of her other kin but she knew that Xull'rae would understand what she desired to have her look over. |

Re: DOOM ON ALYA | #12 | ||

Nadal was more cautious. He did not sit and he remained silent, waiting to be addressed. He stood a little distance away from Alya. His silver eyes were glued to Xull'rae in absolute awe.
Xull'rae was wrapped in black silk. It wasn't clothing, it was simply a prayer cloth. She sat indian stle on the hard floor with candles lit around her. In a meditative stance she looked serene even with her eyes closed. The dim light illuminated her skin and streak in an orangy glow but lit her red hair in radiant hightlights. She wore no paints or jewelry, besides the cloth she was completely in the natural, bathed in soft light. Her glorious mane was loose and had some small tangles in it as if she had rose from sleep to come here without giving herself personal thought. It trailed down her lithe frame, across her knees to pool and spread upon the floor. For many moments she did not speak but when she did it was calm and detatched. "You may remain Nadal. Your lessons will begin shortly. Sit." Nadal instantly dropped to his knees and scurried to mimic her pose. Xull'rae's pitch and tone never faltered as she answered Alya. "You are needy. Try the Jacinth Rose, they will look at your pieces. You may want to try to gain a profit for a change for there are days when I am not hungry." It was a polite refusal but not a total dismissal. OOC: how many monthes since they've returned?
Nathvas was extremly pleased with himself, as he walked down the corridors of the temple. Since they returned from the orcish hole, Unraveling the secrets to the Vengeful Weave was his top pority. Several secrets, pecificly the wizards lab, had remained beyound his reach, until now. It toke him a week straight, literally day and night, studying the runes along the door. It would've taken a normal wizard a year to decode the runes but not for him. Since he had transcanded mortal form, he no longer needed to eat, drink or sleep. There was also another reason why he was happy and part of him swelled with male ego. He noticed Alya further down the corridor, speaking to a unfamiliar drow. Was she running from her stalker again, he wondered for a few moments but shrugged it off. Alya was a big girl. Alya and the strange drow entered one of the prayer rooms. As of late, Alya had taken to stalking Xullrae a bit, so assumed the red head was in meditation. With almost a skip in his step, he followed them into the prayer room. While the two females where talking, he walked over donation box and pulled out a money pouch. He undid the string and poured the contents in. Several gold and platiunium coins clanged as they fell into the box. Next to the box was a statue of Vhearaun, and Nathvas kneeled before it. "Vhearaun, Lord, take these offerings as a token of my loyalty. May they strengthen the order in our struggles against those that oppress us." He prayed. With that done he stood again. Tommorow, tommorow he would return and spend the morning praying. As Nathvas approached the red hair priestess,he sighend a greeting to Alya as eyed the student. He didn't know the drow, so he wouldn't be able tell her directly that the door's protections where down. He stoped a few paces from Xullrae and kneeled before her. He hated doing thism but she was a priestess, and he was a half breed. Even if Vhaeraun accepted half drow, several of more powerful figures would take offence if he become too familiar with the drowess. "Priestess, I have news. The door you had me inspecting has broken. It seems the frame's bindings have come undone, so if you liked to look at it today. I can have everything ready. Even have a meal ready at the Vengeful Weave waiting for you." He explained, trying to hold back a prideful smirk. |

ooc: A little over a year has passed in theory. It is a down time other then the "normal" temple business.
Alya took a slight bow "Forgive me Xull'rae. Perhaps another time. If you will exuse me I will leave you to tend to your business." she replied accepting that fact that she had not heeded Rizzen's warning. The comment about her being needy stung more then she would admit but perhaps she had spent to much time worshipping the ground Xull'rae walked upon. Alya gave a slight nod to Nathvas as he aproached and was semi surprised by his show but would not provoke Xull'rae's annoyance back upon herself if she could help it. She waited silently for Xull'rae to allow her to exit. |

Xull'rae's amber eyes slowly opened after hearing the loud clattering of coins echoing across the chamber. The light iluminated them beautifully and the reflection of the flames flickered in her pupils.
She said nothing to Alya at the moment and Nadal was ignored. Her focus was directly set upon Nathvas. Her face was still serene as she addressed him. "Isn't that delightful. So what do you want, praise?" Her face immediately darkened. Nadal watched even though he felt like shrinking away from that look. "Get up off the fucking floor before I set fire to your robes," said Xull'rae ominously to Nathvas. "Do not be half assed. You come in here full of pride. Interrupt my mediation and then bow like a sniviling servant just to tell me that you opened a door that could take Vorn two days to decipher?" The reprimand came hard and fast. "I let you do many things a half drow is usually not allowed too and yet you disappoint me. First, you are a wizard, it seems silly to me that I have to school you in this profession. Why could you not politely relay the message through a spell? Instead you come to me me bowing after you made a racket. If you want respect from others then you have to show them you are worthy of it. Do not have arrogance and then try to smother it in a submissive gesture. You start with something, you finish it. Backing down before it becomes life threatening shows you have no courage to back up anything. You try too hard to stay away from danger and be on everyone's good side. You'll die faster that way. I've never asked you to kneel. You are part of this temple and a part of my team. Stop worrying what others think and worry about what's important to you." She stood then and the black silk fell away as she bent, naked, to assist Nathvas in standing. "Do what feels right but also learn to know what others feel when you work with them. Don't interrupt my mediatation time again unleess it is life altering for me or my duties." Nadal still sat. His face was studious and Xull'rae gave him a fond smile which caused Nadal to beam from her attention that did not falter when Xull'rae nodded to him. She had approved his reaction and approved his smile. His lesson was passed for the day. He had successfully read body language right. Kept silent to listen and observe instead of speaking and assuming what she wanted and had the patience for her to make the first move and then reacted swifted once she did. However he had not been dismissed but he did stand up. He even boldly checked Xull'rae out while her attention shifted to Alya. "I'm done now. Hopefully you were listening Alya," Xull'rae said. "Dinner I'll pass and your project, but I am up for conversation and breakfast. You are all welcome at the inn, see you there." Nadal gave a flawess half bow and gracefully made his way out, only to stumble and recover quickly when Xull'rae served him a quick hard kick to his behind. Nathvas smile died a little bit, but it didn't completly go away. After all, he got to see the Tower's red flower in her most beautiful form. Of course he wasn't gawking like the drowling, but he didn't himself the sight either.
"Very well, I will remeber that for next time." He stated as she hawled back to his feet. He gave a smirked smile as he looked her in the eyes. "Of course, breakfast it is. I'll make sure the inn has it ready and waiting for you. Until then sister." He replied with a small nod of his head before he turned to Alya and walked to her. "It seems breakfast is in order Alya. FLEE to breakfast? | #17 | ||
|
Alya had a pleasant expression come over her face as Xull'rae lost her cover. She took a quick glance over that which she had haunted her mind but brought her eyes back to Xull'rae's face just as quickly. When Xull'rae spoke to her however she replied with her eyes meeting Xull'rae's gaze "I look forward to breakfast then. Good evening Xull'rae." It did not change her longing but she could be paitent if that was what she had to do. The corner of Alya's left eye twitched in disblief as Nathvas spoke of there breakfast plans praying that he wasn't serious and betting he wasn't with the chuckle he had. "Coming Nathvas." Her step were quicker then Nathvas and it took her little effort to catch up to him. She glanced over her shoulder at Xull'rae before the doors closed. "You where beaten a lot about the head as a slave weren't you?" Alya said picking on Nathvas.
Alya secrectly looked to catch up to Nadal and would if she had the chance as she could walk nearly three times faster then most of her kin. She had a book that she desperately wanted and knew that the library had it however as she was not a mage she wasn't allowed to borrow it. However if she could con someone into reading it with her it would meet the requirements that the keepers of the library had in place and perhaps gain her another way to books she otherwise wouldn't be able to look at. |

"hhmm yes. The scars on my left eye must be a dead away." He chuckled in return. He was playing with Alya. He had no intentions of interuppting her little date with Xullrae. He would would personally greet his employer and show her to her table, but he wouldn't be joining them.
Nathvas open the door and held it open with his body as Alya marched threw. He toke after her in a fast walk inorder to catch up with her. "So Alya, what would you care for breakfast? I'll see to it Akor'dra has prepared, as long as its reasonable." He inquired politely when he noticed her looking around. "Looking for somebody?" He politly asked. Alya smiled listening carefully for her pray but let it go as she was in no mood for cat and mouse. "Perhaps another time." Alya replied to Nathvas but loud enough where anyone within distance could hear. "Let's be off." she added as they left for the Vengful Weave Inn. As they began to leave the halls of the prayer halls a haunting music reached both of there ears. As they walked it grew closer until they came upon a male drow fully garbed in priest robes. He finished his song and smiled at Alya who seemed to bristle at the sight of him. "What do you want Alakas?" Alya asked bluntly. "You but I am fairly sure you are aware of that." Alakas replied giving Nathvas a respectful nod of greeting. "Hello inn keep. What are the specials of the evening and how is your employeer? Do you mind if I borrow Alya for a moment." he said very casuelly. Nathvas could sense Alya's annoyance but she remained controlled. "I mind. Let's go Nathvas." Alya said before Nathvas had a chance to answer trying to push past Alakas who stepped in her way causing her to stop within inches of him. She stood a full foot taller then Alakas but neither of them moved and Alakas seemed pleased by how near they stood. "Is she as difficult with her female lover?" Alakas asked Nathvas.
